$250 Runner-Up Scholarship Winners: David Kinard Jr. and Kendra Moulton
Land of the Free Scholarship - $500
The Law Offices of Robert Keating, PLLC is proud to sponsor the Land of the Free Scholarship. This scholarship is open to active-duty military personnel and veterans, as well as their spouses and children. Applicants must be either enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited college, university, or law school in the United States on August 15, 2021. The winner will receive $500 to use toward their educational expenses.
Why is a law firm sponsoring a scholarship?
As one of the first in his family to attend college and the first to receive a post-graduate degree, attorney Rob Keating understands not only the value of an education, but also the difficulty and expense associated with attending college. As a U.S. Navy veteran, Rob understands and appreciates the sacrifices made by service members and their families. One of the founding principles of his law firm is a duty to give back to the community. One of the ways he can do that is to help a worthy scholar achieve their educational goals.
What is the deadline?
The deadline for applications is August 15, 2021. A winner will be announced by September 1, 2021.
How do I apply?
Please submit a 500-700 word essay on the following topic:
William Blackstone proposed the idea that it is, “[B]etter that ten guilty persons escape, than that one innocent suffer.” Please explain why you agree or disagree with this statement.

Please include your name, age, military affiliation, and the name of the school where you will be attending.
